Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you and yours!

Happy New Year and welcome back to my slice of the world! I’m super excited for this new year 2025! I’m looking forward to all of the new, great, and amazing things that are going to happen for you and me!
2024 was a great year for me, and I hope you had more highs than lows… and if you had more lows… I’m sending you all the positive vibes for this new year.
Have you ever wondered 🤔 Where did New Year resolutions come from? 🤔
Well! It turns out folks have been making resolutions for over 4000 years!! It started
with the ancient Babylonians making promises to their God during harvest time. Overtime resolutions became personal and folks started making promises to themselves.
You hear it all the time, right? 'I'm not making any resolutions this year! They never work anyway!' But if we're promising ourselves something, why
wouldn't they work?
Making a promise to yourself is huge, monumental even. However, it's easy to get all fired up about a new goal, right? Like, "This year, I'm
killing it at the gym!" But life throws curveballs. Work gets crazy, friends need you, that new show on Netflix is just too good to resist...
Suddenly, that gym membership is gathering dust. It's like we forget we promised
ourselves something. Maybe we get lazy, or maybe we just get sidetracked. It happens to the best of us!
Alright, here's the deal: this year, let's actually
do this! Let's hold ourselves accountable to those goals we just set. No more excuses!
Here are 3 casual steps to help you keep promises to yourself:
Keep it Real: Don't go overboard! If you're a night owl, promising yourself to be a morning person is a recipe for disaster. Start small and build up. Want to read more? Aim for 15 minutes a day instead of 30.
Find Your Why: What's the real reason you want to do this? Is it to feel healthier, less stressed, or more creative? Remembering your "why" is like rocket fuel when things get tough.
Be Kind to Yourself: Life happens. You'll have days when you slip up. That's okay! Don't beat yourself up about it. Just pick yourself back up and try again tomorrow. You got this!
Also, try setting your goals using the SMART method. It's like a secret weapon for goal-getters! It's been around since 1981, and it actually works. SMART stands for:
Specific: Be clear and detailed about what you want to achieve. Instead of "Get in shape," try "Run a 5k in 3 months."
Measurable: How will you track your progress? "Lose weight" is vague. "Lose 10 pounds" is measurable.
Achievable: Set realistic goals. Don't try to climb Mount Everest if you've never even hiked before!
Relevant: Make sure your goals are important to you. Don't chase someone else's dream.
Time-bound: Set a deadline! This gives you a sense of urgency and helps you stay motivated
So, take a few minutes and jot down some things you really want to accomplish. Think about how you're going to make it happen – what steps you will take. And don't forget to plan a reward for yourself! It could be anything – a new book, a massage, or even just a night off to binge-watch your favorite show. You deserve it!
There you have it! Hopefully, this helps you crush your goals this year. Remember to be patient with yourself, celebrate your wins, and most importantly, have fun along the way! Happy New Year to you my friend!
Love and light,
Jazz
